Scope Of Services
Majority of equipment found in processing facilities are hazardous in nature due to the fluids involved (i.e. flammable, toxic) or the operating equipment parameters (such as high pressure, high/low temperature, etc). To ensure safe operation of such equipment, strict compliance to standard operating range or standard operating limits is required. Whilst every effort is expected to be made by the operator to ensure operating limits are not exceeded, operating conditions may deviate due to reasons such as operational error, aging equipment, instrumentation failure, process fluctuation, etc. Therefore, the establishment of SOL/SDL is crucial to the safe operation of the facility.
SOL/SDL analysis assists the project team identify and validation process critical equipment and review the setpoints of these equipment using the output from the HAZOP study as the basis.
Crude oil, natural gas, LNG, gas processing and export, oil refining, coal chemical processing, fertilizer and agriculture chemical processing, chemical refining, nuclear, power plant, hazardous material storage, etc.
SOL/SDL is effective for new designs and major design changes to operating facilities. SOL/SDL analysis should be conducted after HAZOP as information used in the HAZOP is the basis for this study. SOL/SDL analysis reviews equipment using the established HAZOP nodes to identify process critical equipment, understand its long reliable and optimal operating parameters and potential fluctuations before recommending SOL/SDL values.
